The MSST operators are armed with MK18 CQBR 5.56mm x 45mm carbines, the standard MSST rifle.
Maritime Safety and Security Teams are a maritime anti-terrorist unit that patrols waterways, boards and searches vessels and secures shoreside structures.
They are an element of the USCG's Deployable Operations Group.
