Members of the 24th MEU's Force Recon Platoon (FRP) train for visit board search and seizure (VBSS) operations.
Force Recon operations are categorized as either 'green' or 'black'.
Green ops refer to Force Recon's core role of reconnaissance operations whereas black ops refer to direct action operations such as VBSS, maritime interdiction and against raids oil/gas platforms and against targets on land.
