Force Recon - Hand Grenades

Marines with of the 31st MEU's Force Recon Platoon (FRP) throw framgentation hand grenades during jungle warfare training.

The United States military fields a variety of hand grenades such as the M67 fragmentation grenade, a spherical grenade that has a kill radius of 5 meters.

Other variety of grenades include the M18 smoke grenade which can be used to create a smoke screen and as a marker or signalling device and the AN-M14 TH3 incendiary grenade which can be used to destroy equipment or start fires.

Counter Terrorist units such as Delta Force, Special Reaction Teams and Police SWAT teams may employ ''flash bang' grenades such as the M84 stun grenade which are designed to distract and disorientate hostiles inside a room before entry is made.
