Force Recon | 26th MEU | Maritime Raid Force

Marines with Force Recon Platoon, Maritime Raid Force (MRF), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (26th MEU) provide security aboard a vessel during visit board search and seizure (VBSS) training, June 2015.

The 2 foremost Force Recon Marines are armed with M4a1 carbines adapted to fire simmunition training rounds.

The foremost carbinea are fitted with SU-231 holographoc scopes amd AN/PEQ-15 laser aiming devices.

These Force Recon operators are wearing CWU-27/P tan flight suits.

Over these they are wearing the USMC Full Spectrum Battle Equipment (FSBE) II set of gear which includes body armor, plate carriers, chest harnes and an assortment of belts, pouches and packs.

Their helmets are Modular Integrated Communications Helmet (MICH) 2000 models with AN/PVS-14 night vision monocular device (NVMD.

Other headgear includes ear defenders/radio headsets linked to MBITR AN/PRC-148 radios.
