26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Maritime Raid Force (MRF) of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) conduct live weapons training at a firing range in Qatar, 2013. Note the emphasis on shooting while moving. Also note the transition from main weapon to side arm and subsequent rapid reload.
MRFs are the MEU's special operations wing. Based around the core components of a Force Recon Platoon (FRP), Amphibious Recon Platoon (ARP) and security elements of infantry Marines with the MEU's Battalion Landing Team, the Maritime Raid Force carries out maritime interdiction operations and raids against targets on land.
