A Force Recon Marine with the 26th MEU's Force Recon Platoon, Maritime Raid Force, provides security while other Force Recon operators climb onto a maritime structure during a training operation.
This Marine is using a LAR V Draeger rebreather, a closed-circuit system designed for shallow dive operations.
Force Recon operators may approach a static maritime objective such as a gas/oil platform in a number of ways, including via helicopter fast-rope insertion, via surface boats and underwater through the use of diver propulsion devices.
