Force Reconnaissance Platoon - HK416

A Marine with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) 's Force Reconnaissance Platoon fires a HK 416 carbine during a live-fire exercise in the jungle.
The HK416 is 5.56mmx45mm weapon available in a number of configurations.
It is believed to be used by the Army's Delta Force and the Navy's Seal Team Six.
A variant of the HK 416, designated the M27 Infantry Assault Rifle, has been adopted by the USMC as a replacement for the M249 SAW light machine gun.
