A Force Recon Marine from 2nd Platoon, Force Reconnaissance Company, II MEF fires a M9a1 9mm pistol during weapons training, 2010.
The M9a1 is a recent variant of the venerable M9 Beretta pistol, adding, among other features, a MIL-SPEC-1913 (Picatinny) rail for mounting lights forward of the trigger guard and PVD coated magazines.
