C-17A Globemasters III - Low Level

The special operations division of the 437th Airlift Wing, USAF Air Mobility Command maintain a number of specialist pilots and loadmasters that are trained to special operations low level II (SOL II) standards.

SOL II missions include landing at austere landing strips at night while the aircraft is blacked out and air drop and boat drop operations.

C-17A Special Operations Low Level II variants are thought to feature a number of modifications including NVG-compatible cockpit and cabin lighting and secure communications equipment.
