U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers with the 19th Special Forces Group fast-rope down from a USAF HH-60G Pavehawk helicopter during a Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) exercise.
The HH-60G is a modified UH-60 Blackhawk, with a similar set of sensors and countermeasures to the MH-60K/L birds flown by the Army's 160th SOAR.
The helicopters are designed to penetrate hostile air space, at day or night, at low level and in adverse weather conditions, to rescue downed pilots or extract Special Operations Forces.
The HH-60G Pavehawk squadrons train regularly with AFSOC Pararescuemen.
