A MH-47G Chinook helicopter's downwash throws up debris as it prepares to deploy special operations troops via fast-rope from its rear ramp.
The MH-47g 'Golf' is the latest model of the venerable heavy lift helicopter to be operated by Task Force 160, otherwise known as the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.
The MH-47G is based on the CH-47F Chinook and features a Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) comprising of computerised display and management systems such as moving map displays, navigation, mission and flight management software.
The MH-47G also features an extendable refueling probe which facilitates mid-air refueling from tankers such as the MC-130P.
