A member of Wichita Falls Police Department Special Weapons & Tactics (SWAT) team fires a M4 / AR-15 5.56mmx45mm carbine during training at a civilian law enforcement firing range.
Note the suppressor and Eotech SU-231 sight fitted on the officer's rifle.
Wichita Falls' SWAT team is part of the Police Department's Special Operations Division.
The team is made up of 18 specially-trained Police Officers, tasked with a range of roles including dignitary protection, hostage rescue, high risk arrests and responding to active shooters.
Wichita Falls SWAT team members must undergo 60 hours of basic SWAT training before becoming eligable to join the unit.
Specialized equipment includes an armored HMMWV (Humvee).
