The SWAT team is part of Clovis PD's Special Response Team, along with a Crisis Negotiation Unit and SRT Command Unit.
The SWAT team consists of 14 police officers and 3 tactical medics.
The SWAT team includes specially-trained marksmen who have attended an Advanced Sniper Weapons School.
SWAT teams respond to high risk, crisis scenarious where they bring their tactical skills and specialized equipment to bear, with the aim of minimizing injury, loss of life and property damage.
