MSSTs are a Deployable Specialized Force tasked with securing the nation's ports against terrorist attack.
MSST Maritime Law Enforcement Force Protection Teams board and search suspect vessels, carry out maritime anti-terrorism and provide shoreside force protection for strategic shipping and critical port facilities.
Their duties include setting up and maintaining entry points to port facilities and provide physical security for VIPs.
