Foot Hood's Special Reaction Team (SRT) carry out pre-room-entry training drills.

The SRT are using floor plans marked out on the ground in chalk to prepare for a room clearing exercise.

This is a common method employed by tactical teams in order to become accostomed to the layout of the buildings they are primed to enter.

This simple technique means they can practise team movements through a given floor, become familiar with all the angles, doorways etc.

Foot Hood's Special Reaction Team is a SWAT-style unit formed from the base's stationed Military Policemen.

THey are trained to deal with extreme law enforcement scenarious, including active shooters.

Foot Hood has had two active shooter incidents between 2009 and 2014.
