U.S. Navy Photo by Mass Communications Specialist Chief Stan Travioli/Released
Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen (SWCC) with Special Boat Team 20 (SBT-20) operate a Naval Special Warfare Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (NSW RHIB).
Note the .50 cal heavy machine gun being fired from the ship's bow.
NSW RHIBs are used by the Special Boat Teams to insert and extract SOF, typically U.S. Navy SEALs.
The boats can be air-dropped onto water from fixed-wing cargo planes or deployed via an under-slung load by heavy-left helicopters.
Special Boat Team 20 are an East Coast Naval Special Warfare unit based at Little Creek, Va.
SBT-20 operate NSW RHIBs and MK V Special Operations Craft.
