DAGREs are specially-trained detachments from Special Operations Security Forces Squadrons.
Their role is to provide force protection and other support to Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) forces deployed to high risk locations around the world.
DAGRE operators undergo an 11-week training program which features Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) training, advanced tactics, tactical evidence collection, unarmed combat, the use of edged weapons and defensive driving techniques.
