Green Berets breach a door during Emerald Warrior 2012, a joint special operations exercise held in Florida.
Special Forces learn breaching and room clearing techniques on various training courses including the Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat (SFAUC) which schools a 12-man Operational Detactment-Alpha (ODA) in close quarters combat, urban warfare and explosive entry methods.
Breaching can be made with explosives, hydraulic tools, hammers or saws.
Once an explosive breach has been made, Special Forces operators are trained to enter and clear the room as quickly as possible, to capitalize on the element of suprise.
