Members of a U.S. Army Special Forces A-Team stack up in preparation to enter and clear a building at a training center.
An A-Team, aka a Special Forces Operational Detachment-Alpha (ODA), or SFOD-A, is the primary front line fighting element of the Green Berets.
Each 12-man A-Team comprises a Detachment Commander, Assistant Detachment Commander, Operations Sergeant, Assistant Operations and Intelligence Sergeant, 2 Weapons Sergeants, 2 Communications Sergeants, 2 Medical Sergeants and 2 Engineering Sergeants.
Aside from their main Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), each A-Team member also cross-trains in other specialties, resulting in a highly skilled and versatile team.
