A MH-60 Blackhawk helicopter hovers while Green Berets with the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) fast-rope down during a training exercise.
Note the Night Stalker manning a M134 minigun as he monitors the fast-rope insertion.
In the crucial seconds between the helicopter coming into the hover and the Green Berets hitting the ground, the MH-60's gunners can lay down suppressive fire from firing ports on both sides of the aircraft.
The Night Stalkers, otherwise known as the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, are an elite U.S. Army unit that operates fleets of advanced helicopters in support of special operations forces.
