The SEALs are practising in GOPLAT (Gas and Oil Platform) boarding techniques.
SEALs may be called on to retake GOPLAT facilities from hostile hands in locations around the world.
Along with the USMC's Maritime Raid Force, the SEALs are the United States military's specialists in maritime interdiction operations.
GOPLATs may approached be from below, with SEALs hooking and climbing up from rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIBS) and from above via helicopter fast-rope insertion.
