Navy SEAL Photo - SDV Team - Locking Out

U.S. Navy photo by Chief Photographer's Mate Andrew McKaskle

Divers from SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team Two (SDVT-2) undergoing 'locking out' training with USS Hawaii (SSN 776).

Locking out is a procedure in which SEALs exit a submerged submarine, along with their mission equipment.

The reverse procedure is known as 'locking in'.

These are arduous and dangerous procedures but are worth it since they allow for a completely clandestine stealth infil/exfil of SDV Teams.
