A MARSOC sniper, armed with a Barrett M82 .50 sniper rifle.
The M82 fires a devestating .50 BMG round that can take out hard targets from long distance.
MARSOC Snipers take the Basic Scout Sniper Course (or equivalent) then progress to the MARSOF Advanced Sniper Course which teaches them sniping techniques specific to the special operations role.
The MARSOC sniper shown above is wearing a Ghillie suit, a type of camouflage clothing made to resemble foliage.
Designed by Scottish hunters, the Ghillie suit is tailored by its user, adding items of local foliage in order to blend in to a specific location.
